What is A2P Verification and what do I need to complete it?

A2P 10DLC stands for Application-to-Person 10-digit-long code: it's the phone number provided by Wendi, and getting verified allows businesses to message customers without being marked as spam.

A2P Verification is the process that US mobile phone carriers require to ensure that the texts sent from businesses to customers are legitimate.

For Wendi users, this verification means your Wendi numbers can text patients who have opted into SMS messaging. Without it, automations, reminders, and manually written messages to patients cannot be sent or received.

When you log into Wendi you can see the status of your Wendi phone number's verification displayed to its right.

To become A2P verified, click on the status bubble next to your Wendi phone number. This will send you to the “A2P Verification” page (also found under the “My Organization” tab group). There you can fill out the required information, save, and you should receive a notification that your details have been submitted.

The fields of information you'll want to prepare include:

  • EIN
  • Company name as it appears on the EIN approval letter (CP575 notice) from the IRS
  • Legal Structure (LLC, Corporation, Non-Profit, Partnership, or Cooperative)
  • Website URL
  • Social Media Profile urls (if applicable; i.e. Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter)
  • Business Name (for mailing)
  • Mailing address

When your details have been submitted, your status should go from "Not verified" to "In Review"

When approved, your status will read "Verified"

When information submitted is inaccurate, you may see "Verification Failed"

If you aren't yet verified, a temporary campaign is in use to allow for customer messaging prior to authentication (but we do recommend completing this process as soon as possible to avoid any possible disruptions.)
